Ten years ago, following my own positive experiences as a client in counselling, I decided to pursue counselling as a profession. I trained over three 3 years to become an Integrative Psycho-therapeutic Counsellor at Newcastle's Northern Guild for Psychotherapy. I began practising as a trainee in NHS Primary Care in 2011, which continued throughout the three years of my training. Since qualifying in 2013 I have operated my own private practice in Newcastle City Centre. Please note I have now moved to online-only counselling sessions. These are proving to be highly effective, allowing clients the additional flexibility and comfort of meeting from their chosen location.
My aim is to help clients feel better as quickly as possible. Problems involve the client’s thoughts, feelings and behaviours, so I work on all of these things with my client using a variety of tools and techniques to get the answers my client needs. I only work with a small number of clients at a time, which means I am able to give my clients the additional time and focus they may need.
I strive for professionalism and ethical responsibility at all times. I am a registered member of the BACP, one of the UKs leading governing bodies for Psychotherapy and Counselling.
